Steel Battalion: Line of Contact (SBLoC) is an online-only sequel to the Xbox mech game Steel Battalion, featuring 5-vs-5 multiplayer battles using the series' unique large, physical controller. Players pilot Vertical Tanks (VTs) in competitive modes like Conquest, Battle Royale, and Capture the Container, or in a dynamic Campaign mode where territories are gained and lost, with up to 10 players total. The game emphasizes teamwork and strategic use of the complex 40-button controller to manage the VTs, with its online modes being discontinued shortly after release but remaining playable via fan-run XLink Kai sessions
