Samurai Shodown! (or Samurai Spirits!) for the Neo Geo Pocket (NGP) is a monochrome fighting game based on the popular arcade series, released in 1998. It served as a conversion for the arcade game Samurai Shodown IV, featuring many of the same story elements and characters in a small-scale fighting format. The game supports 2-player battles via a Link Cable and includes familiar series systems like the Rage Gauge and Disarm Slash, but its mechanics and visual aspects were significantly improved with its colorful sequel, Samurai Shodown! 2
