Final Fantasy XIII-2 for PlayStation 3 is a role-playing game that continues the story of Final Fantasy XIII, focusing on Serah Farron's time-traveling journey with Noel Kreiss to find her missing sister, Lightning, and prevent the world's destruction. Key features include a non-linear, time-traveling storyline, a monster collection system for party members instead of summons, and more expansive environments with towns and side quests. The game was praised for addressing criticisms of the first game's linearity but received mixed views on its story and a somewhat easier combat system compared to its predecessor
